The Perfect Anti Kapha Tea: Ginger, Thyme & Elderflower

As we transition into spring, it's common to feel a bit sluggish or congested, classic signs of elevated Kapha. This gentle herbal tea, blending ginger, thyme, and elderflower, offers a natural way to invigorate your senses and support your body's balance.

  • Ginger – to warm the body and stimulate digestion

  • Thyme – to support the lungs and respiratory system

  • Elderflower – to gently clear excess mucus and promote detoxification

Together, they create a soothing yet stimulating brew to help you feel lighter and more energised. Perfect for sipping on damp mornings or whenever you need a revitalising lift.


Ingredients

  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger (or ½ tsp dried)

  • 1 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp dried elderflower

  • 300–400ml just-boiled water

  • Optional: a slice of lemon or a dash of raw honey (added after brewing)

Instructions

  • Add the ginger, thyme, and elderflower to a teapot or heat-safe jar.

  • Pour over just-boiled water.

  • Cover and steep for 10–15 minutes.

  • Strain, sip, and enjoy while warm.

Tip: Drink this tea in the morning to help stimulate your digestion and clear any overnight heaviness.
